Job Description:
Internet Specialists help troubleshoot problems with connectivity to a company website or intranet site. They also help perform website performance testing and evaluations. They will help do quality assurance on a company's website by checking broken links or page-not-found errors. They will help do backups of the company's websites and possibly database backups for databases that are connected to the website.

They can also help customer's find items on a website or help troubleshoot with a customer who cannot get the website to load on their computer system. They will work with the Web Designers in testing new web applications as well as new websites. Individuals interested in becoming a Web Help Desk Support person must have good communication skills because troubleshooting and helping others are vital parts of this IT career. The constant interaction with other computer personnel, customers, and employees requires you to communicate effectively on paper, via email, over the phone, and in person. Strong writing skills are useful in preparing communication for employees and customers. Internet Specialists will primarily work in a team with Web Designers, Web Developers, Content Managers and a Web Master.

Job Description:
Content Specialists help collect, create and format material to be used on designing a website. This includes researching and collecting data, graphics and text. In some positions, Content Specialists create basic graphics and write content to be published onto a company's website.

They assist with keeping standards, technologies and practices for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce models. They have a basic understanding of relationships among marketing, promotion, customer service and user interaction. With the growing demand for businesses needing "Web Presence", there is a growing need for knowledgeable people in maintaining, creating and marketing a company's website. Businesses need people to research data on their competition as well as research the trends in their business sector. All of this is now being done via the web.

Individuals in this IT career must be creative and have some artistic aptitude. Normally they will work with higher-level specialists in a marketing department. This position usually reports to a Content Manager.
